02 About me
One day, my wife told me I needed a hobby...
That's when I decided to pick up a camera and start taking pictures of nature. We lived in the beautiful Wine Country of Sonoma County, so it was easy to find places to explore and shoot. I guess you can say I've always been interested in photography, but never had enough faith in my ability to get "that shot". After several adventures at local wineries, parks and my favorite - pulling over to capture sunrises on my way to work, my love for capturing nature's perfection became more than a hobby.
I started sharing my work with family and friends. They were amazed and loved it! They asked me for canvases of my photos for their homes and offices. Word spread about, and people wanted me to take their pictures, capturing special moments; engagements, senior portraits, parties, and more.
At first, I was nervous to take pictures of people because I was comfortable only shooting nature and immovable subjects. Plus, I didn't want to miss that moment, during a photo shoot, and not capture that perfect second that could last forever in a print. What if my pictures were blurry or didn't meet my clients standards? I was nervous and scared but I did it...
I took a leap and did my first human photo shoot. It came out better than I expected and the client loved it! My eye for the backdrop makes it easier for me to scout locations and then drop subjects in for a well balanced session, and ultimately, beautiful photos.
My family supports me in this journey and I'm grateful for my clients that trust me everyday to capture those one of a kind moments in their life.
